2. Processing of personal information when visiting the website

2.2 Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”). The information generated by the cookie on your use of this website (including your IP address) is transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. 2.3 Use of the services of Aumago GmbH

Verlagsanstalt Handwerk GmbH cooperates with Aumago GmbH (“Aumago”), Berlin, a target group marketer. Aumago uses so-called cookies, a text file that is stored in the browser of the computer. Pseudonymised usage data is collected in the form of cookie IDs and advertising IDs without IP addresses. The cookie ID and advertising IDs without IP address are insufficient to identify a natural person behind a browser / user. Aumago assumes an interest in a specific B2B sector on the basis of surfing behaviour (websites visited, categories, product pages) of the user and uses this information on the behalf of Verlagsanstalt Handwerk GmbH to make adjustments for better-targeted, usage-based online advertising. The cookies can be synchronised in this regard with other platforms via so-called cookie matching. The matching can occur e.g. for: Google, Doubleclick, Adition, Appnexus, Mediamath, The Trade Desk, Adform, Active Agent, yieldlab.

The cookies involved are either Aumago cookies or those of service providers Aumago employs, such as THE ADEX GmbH, Berlin. Users can at any time declare their opt-out via the following link and thereby their objection to such cookie tracking. As a result, a so-called opt-out cookie is set. 2.4 Use of Google AdSense

This website uses Google AdSense and as a result “cookies” (text files stored on the computer of the user, which permit analysis of use of the website). AdSense also uses so-called web beacons (invisible graphics). These web beacons permit evaluation of information, like the visitor traffic on the pages of this product offer. The information generated by cookies and web beacons on the use of this website (including the IP address of the users) is transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. 2.5 Facebook plug-ins

We use the plug-ins of the social media network facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA. The plug-in can be recognised by the Facebook logo (white “f” on a blue tile) or the “Thumbs-up” (“Like”) symbol. If you retrieve a page that includes such a plug-in, your browser establishes a direct connection with the servers of Facebook. The content of the plug-in is transmitted directly by Facebook to your browser and integrated by it in the website. This provides Facebook with the information that a user retrieved the corresponding page of the product offer. If you are a Facebook user and logged into Facebook, Facebook can assign your page retrieval to your Facebook account. If you interact with a plug-in, for example to share or “like” content, this information is transmitted directly from your browser to Facebook and stored there. If you do not want Facebook to collect data about you by means of the plug-in and link this with your membership data stored at Facebook, you must log out from Facebook before visiting our website. You can also block the plug-ins, for example by installing the browser add-on “Facebook Blocker.”

2.6 Twitter plug-ins

We use plug-ins from the service Twitter, which is operated by Twitter Inc., 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. They are recognisable by terms like “Twitter” or “Follow”, associated with the Twitter logo (stylised blue bird). You can share an article on Twitter as logged-in Twitter user with the plug-in or share pages from this product offer in Twitter or follow the provider at Twitter. Even if you are not a Twitter user or not logged in to Twitter, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Twitter servers. The content of the Twitter buttons is transmitted by Twitter directly to the browser of the user. We have no influence on the scope of the data Twitter processes with the help of this plug-in. As far as we know, your IP address together with the URL of the page retrieved is transmitted to Twitter, but only used for the display of the button.

2.7 Embedded YouTube player

We integrate videos in our website; they are played via an embedded YouTube player. The operator of the video platform YouTube is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA, represented by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. When you retrieve a page on our website with the embedded YouTube player, a connection is established to the YouTube servers. As a result, your IP address together with the URL of the page retrieved is transmitted to the YouTube server. If you are logged in to Google, YouTube/Google can assign this information to you and process it in your personal profile.

If you do not want Google to collect data about you and link it with your personal profile, you must log out from Google before visiting our website. 3. Newsletter

You must state your name and e-mail address in order to register for our e-mail newsletter (published two-to-three times a month). We process this data with your consent exclusively for the mailing of the newsletter you requested. To confirm the registration, we send you an e-mail with a confirmation link. Only after activation of the confirmation link are you registered for the newsletter.

4. Commenting on articles

You have to state your name and e-mail address in order to be able to comment on an article. Your name and the time you despatched the comment are displayed publicly together with your comment. Your e-mail address is not published. We only use it if necessary in order to communicate with you. If you also provide us with your consent to do so, we notify you by e-mail if another user likewise makes a comment on the same article.

5. Your rights

You are entitled to information on the personal data about you we process, to having incorrect data corrected, data that is no longer needed being deleted or its processing restricted as well as to data transferability.

You can object to your data being processed at any time to protect your legitimate interests for reasons related to your particular situation. In addition, you can at any time object to the processing of your data for the purpose of direct advertising.

You are entitled to lodge a complaint with a regulatory authority. The local regulatory body responsible for us is the State Officer for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, North Rhine Westphalia, Kavalleriestr. 2-4, 40213 Dusseldorf (https://www.ldi.nrw.de).

6. Contilla ContentCreator

We use “Contilla ContentCreator” to create interactive content forms (e g quizzes and tests), which we embed on our website. The personal data which you provide (e g name, contact details, Facebook ID) or which is collected when you use such interactive content (e g the evaluation of your answers to the questions of a quiz, IP address, time and place of access to interactive content) is transmitted to our service provider Contilla GmbH, which processes this data on our behalf according to Article 28 GDPR. Contilla itself employs InterNetC GmbH and EMC HostCo GmbH (server maintenance and hosting) and Inxmail GmbH (distribution of emails to users of interactive content) as processors. These three service providers process the data in Germany.

7. Recipients of data

This website is hosted by Host Europe GmbH, Welserstr. 14, 511149 Köln. Host Europe processes personal data on our behalf (commissioned data processing according to Article 28 GDPR).

Due to our use of web analytics, social plug-ins and third party content (Aumago, Contilla ContentCreator, Google Analytics, Google AdSense, etracker, Facebook, Mouseflow, Twitter, YouTube, WhatsBroadcast) data is transferred to other parties.

Regarding those processors and third parties which are established in the US, an adequate level of protection is ensured according to an adequacy decision by the EU Commission, as those service providers are certified under the “EU-US Privacy Shield” framework.
