Small works of art with fantastic technology. This is the unifying theme that runs throughout the history of the Italian lift company Giovenzana International. The family business – today in its third generation – is active in four sectors.

In the lift industry, the conveyance equipment industry, the automation sector and also in the field of industrial control accessories. Giovenzana International has been regarded from the start as a key partner in shaping application standards for components for the car roof and shaft floor.

Pioneer in products and technologies

HandwerkIn the course of recent years, the company has made a great contribution to the development and application of the new European standards EN 81.20 and EN 81-50. The company has always been regarded as a pioneer in products and technologies in the component area and as a reference point in terms of its equipment for the safety of workers and users of passenger and cargo lifts.

Giovenzana recently supplemented its product range in the lift field with new light switches for the car roof and underside of the car and with bridging equipment. All products meet the international standards EN 81.20 and EN 81.50.

Emergency lighting with emergency power supply

The new standards require emergency lighting with emergency power supply and an automatic charging function, which guarantees a lighting intensity of at least one lux for an hour.

a) for each alarm device in the car and on the car roof
b) in the centre of the car, one metre above the floor
c) in the centre of the car roof, one metre above the floor.
This lighting must switch on automatically once the normal lighting has failed.

Solutions from Giovenzana are for example:
GM034: emergency light switch (5 lux)
GMS 169: emergency light switch (5 lux) and alarm button
GM033: emergency light switch (5 lux), alarm button and socket

Acoustic warning signal in the car

With regard to the bypass function of the doors, the standard requires there to be an acoustic warning signal in the car during opening and closing movement, which is also audible below the car, and a flash light is visible under the car. The sound level of the acoustic warning signal under the car at a distance of a metre must be at least 55 dB (A).

Examples for products from Giovenzana that meet these requirements are:
GMS 131: buttons with flashing yellow light and buzzer
GMS 167: buttons with flashing yellow light, buzzer and alarm button
GMO 92 BYPASS: BYPASS maintenance device

Synonymous with efficiency and competitiveness

HandwerkContinuous research and development of components as pioneer in the field of active and passive safety is associated with continuing experimentation with materials, which have a low environmental load and are permanently top quality. This is the secret of the international success of Giovenzana products, which are synonymous with efficiency and competitiveness.

The company has pursued globalisation in the last 20 years in structural and logistical terms. For example, a production and trading location has been set up in Amsterdam, a company headquarters in Hungary, an office in Moscow and branches in Dubai, Mumbai and Sao Paolo in Brazil.

The base in Hungary supplies companies in East European countries while the office in Moscow supplies the Russian Federation and neighbouring regions. Recently a logistics hub was set up in the Middle East for deliveries to Asian and Oceania.
