Gustav Wolf: Expansion in the USA

Gustav Wolf GmbH has now opened its new plant in the USA. The manufacturer of wire and ropes, based in Gütersloh (Germany), aims to expedite its international strategy in this way.

According to company information, Gustav Wolf is the world market leader for lift ropes, with six rope plants on three continents. The USA, along with Asia and Europe, is one of the biggest markets for these specially constructed ropes. The plant is located in the town of Rome, Georgia (pop. 36,000).

Gustav Wolf bought the plant from a local manufacturer. “From May, we will be setting up new machinery, followed by additional steps. Our plans are for 30 employees at the location and we want to achieve sales of ten million euros,” revealed Reinhard Bänisch, Division Manager Steel Wire Ropes. Production is intended exclusively for the US market.
