CiA: Re-election and a new CEO

On the annual CiA General Assembly, the members re-elected the three members of the board. In addition, there was a change at the top of the CiA GmbH.

Uwe Koppe (Technical Director), Christian Schlegel (Business Director) and Holger Zeltwanger (Managing Director) were re-elected for the CiA board.

Besides the board-of-directors, the general assembly elected the members of the CiA Technical Committee and of the CiA Business Committee. Bosch, Emtas, Esacademy, HMS, and Janz Tec are the elected members of the CiA Technical Committee. Additionally, the committee comprises representatives of the Interest Groups CANopen, CAN FD, and Commercial Vehicles. The Business Committee is built by representatives of the Marketing Groups Lift and CANopen FD (in foundation) as well as the elected members (Emtas, ESD Electronics, Janz Tec, MicroControl, and Vector).

Change at the top of CiA GmbH

HandwerkIn addition, there was a change at the top of the CiA GmbH: Holger Zeltwanger is retired officially. He handed over his duty as CEO of the CiA GmbH to Reiner Zitzmann. He is still elected as CiA Managing Director until spring 2019.

Holger Zeltwanger continue to be the editor-in-chief for the CAN Newsletter magazine and its CAN Newsletter Online sister publication until end of 2019. On April 1, 2017, Reiner Zitzmann (42) had already been appointed Managing Director of CAN in Automation (CiA) GmbH. He had run the business together with Zeltwanger until June 2018.

Zitzmann works already since 2004 as Technical Manager in the commercial subsidiary of the nonprofit CiA association. He edits CANopen specifications, trains engineers in CAN technology, and represents the association in standardization bodies and on conferences. Since 2008, he manages the CiA seminars and CiA technical working groups.
