Product offensive: the end of the switch

News

New Lift Steuerungsbau GmbH is planning no fewer than five new launches and relaunches for 2019.

According to the company, New Lift has grown to be one of the biggest group-independent manufacturers of lift controls in Europe. The company with an annual turnover of 35 million euros invests 2.5 million euros a year in lift control research and development.

When it comes to new launches and relaunches, the aim this year is above all to replace expensive and complicated hardware with intelligent software. As a result, installation in particular will become a great deal easier and more affordable, according to the company. "In other words: fewer cables and wires."

Safety system S1

HandwerkLimit switches, inspection limit switches, safety relays, door zone switches – it was getting difficult just to see some lifts with all the switches. S1 is intended to put an end to this flood of switches (and the associated installation effort).

This is a certified safety software combined with magnetic tape and a completely redundant scanning installation, which can be used for safety-oriented applications up to SIL3. As a result, you can dispense with all the switches and still monitor the speed and position of car. The safety circuit is broken in the event of impermissible divergences and additional brakes activated.

Moreover, the graphic FST guide with CANopen interface is intended to make start-up and troubleshooting of the system a routine matter.

Cloud-supported web platform ELEVISION 4.0

New, optimised form: the standard monitoring system Elevision 2 has been merged with the proven electronic lift attendant LMS24/7 in a browser-based user interface (www.elevision.de). "As a result, undreamt of networking options have opened up," explained New Lift.

Access is available to users worldwide via GSM, Ethernet or WLAN on their mobile device to the ELEVISION 4.0 server. In addition, users can adjust the control parameters wirelessly in the whole building. (Incidentally, the lift attendant software is already integrated in the FST-2XT control). There is a CANopen interface for third-party controls and for networking data collection of frequency inverters, door controls and any third-party sensors.

CANopen interfaces for door drives and frequency converters

Fewer cables, fewer wires. Thanks to these interfaces, installation should become much simpler and operation is easy too. You can read status reports and make settings via the FST menu.

Moreover, not only can various frequency inverters be selected, but all standard CAN modules of third parties (floor displays, shaft and car nodes as well as any sensors) can be adapted via an affordable LON-CAN gateway.

Unprotected universal brake control

HandwerkHere too, it's "Bye-bye switches!" Instead of brake contactors, rectifiers and transformers, a universally-deployable brake control for one to three brake magnets with 40 to 207 V direct current at up to 4 A per brake circuit will be available from autumn.

The compact module, type-tested according to EN81-20/50, can be installed in a switch cabinet or a shaft. This can be used to control all standard commercial drive brakes in new or modernised lifts. Brake voltage, brake current and the brake monitoring contact can be checked on the graphic FST guide. Like the monitoring, parameter assignment and troubleshooting also occurs via CANopen interfaces.

Optimised FST-2XT for new lifts without machine room

FST 2S1Last but not least, the FST-2S1 will be available towards the end of the year. This optimised FST-2XT, which will need only half-as-much space as before, was developed for the price-sensitive new lift market. Tailored for the S1 safety system, it should open up a lot of potential for savings.

The drive is selected via CANopen interfaces, explained the manufacturer, "The tried-and-tested operating panel with FST guide will of course be kept."
