Bernstein AG: The comeback is at interlift 2019

News

At interlift in Augsburg, Bernstein AG will present its latest position switch. the IN series. The family business is using this new development to mark its comeback at the most important trade fair for the lift industry.

"Even though, after a few years away, we are now once again represented at interlift with our own booth, we have always been present in the market. We are very proud that our SEL series door contacts and characteristic red switches can be found in elevators and escalators all over the world through our customers," said Gisela Bernstein, CEO of the Porta Westfalica-based company.

HandwerkThe latest addition to the proven SEL door contact series which Bernstein will be presenting at this year's interlift is the SEL3. The company will also present its other latest developments to interested visitors at the trade fair - the IN62 position switch for standard applications and the IN65 modular position switch with a large selection of easily exchangeable actuators.

Role of position switches changed completely

According to the company, the IN62 and IN65 were a successful response to market demands. This was because the contacts of this series have been especially designed for low currents.

The role of position switches has changed completely in recent decades. In the middle of the 20th century, these switches had to be able to operate with currents of up to 16A, while today we are only talking about a few mA. The IN series was developed especially for this requirement.

Combination of metal and plastic components

HandwerkThe IN65 also offers a special feature with its sophisticated combination of metal and plastic components. The switch’s mounting plate is made entirely of metal, which simplifies installation considerably and makes the switch robust and durable.

"A mechanical service life of up to 30 million switching cycles can be effortlessly assured," according to Bernstein AG. The lower part of the housing is made of glass-fiber reinforced plastic, which not only insulates the IN65 electrically, but also makes it economically attractive.
