omnicon engineering taken over

News

At the end of October, Schmersal Holding GmbH & Co. KG took over omnicon engineering GmbH, based in Kirkel-Limbach (Saarland, Germany).

omnicon is a service provider that advises both medium-sized as well as DAX companies on safety questions and supports them in ensuring their equipment complies with EU regulations on machine safety.

The engineering firm with about 15 employees will continue to operate under its previous name as a member of the Schmersal Group. The founder Friedhelm Nowak is also to stay on with the company as managing director.

Greater market penetration

According to Schmersal, the takeover is intended to achieve greater market penetration for the services of its tec.nicum business division. tec.nicum was set up on 1 January 2016 as the service segment of the Schmersal Group.

The worldwide network of certified functional safety engineers is intended to provide machinery manufacturers and operators with manufacturer-neutral advice in all questions of machine and work safety.
